Randy Baseler is the lucky guy who gets to travel the world talking about Boeing’s perspective on commercial aviation. As vice president of marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Seattle, Randy is always meeting with experts, analysts, and airline customers, and talking with aviation and business media.

Randy’s job is to talk about Boeing and its place in commercial aviation, and Randy’s Journal is a way to expand the conversation. He’s always thinking airplanes – even on those rare occasions when he’s not actually on an airplane. His journal is a place to share those thoughts, a dynamic place where the inside scoop about the Boeing family of commercial airplanes is combined with some images, information and insight into the commercial airplane business you won’t find anywhere else.

Throughout his career, Randy has kept a close eye on the competitive marketplace, and has helped guide Boeing’s planning and product development. He has had extensive involvement with airline customers and industry leaders in both selling and developing Boeing products.

Before he was named Vice President of Marketing, Randy was Director of Marketing for the Airline Profitability Analysis organization. He was also senior manager for the Renton Division Marketing Management organization, responsible for the Boeing 737 and 757 programs.

Randy has also developed product strategy for the 747 and 767 airplane programs. He helped develop the marketing and product strategy for the 767X, which became the Boeing 777.
