Right from the start, Droog has argued its curatorial outlook and choices in texts which accompany presentations, projects and exhibitions. A range of articles and a growing series of catalogues and books by Droogs founders Renny Ramakers and Gijs Bakker and by other authors connect the collection to its cultural and professional contexts. As an active force in the contemporary debate on design and product culture, Droog takes position with provocative publications, both in terms of content and form. The design of Droogs catalogues, for example, is as much a statement on where we stand as the texts and products contained in it. In that respect, Droog publications are as much part of the collection of design products as the products are published statements.
